Obituary for Kenny William "KJ" Simpkins Jr.

Kenny William "KJ" Simpkins Jr.
Kenny William Simpkins, Jr., son of Debbie Davis and the late Kenny William Simpkins, Sr., was born on September 24, 1984 in Nassawadox, Virginia. He departed this life on February 21, 2018.

Kenny was affectionately known by family as “KJ” and by his friends as “Chunks.”

KJ was a kind-hearted person, once he accepted you as a friend and knew that you were loyal. He loved to cook and would often brag about his baked corn and his secret ingredient. Like his father, he loved all sports and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. They enjoyed watching the games together and shooting pool.

KJ’s greatest joy was his daughter, Armani; she was a bright star in his life. He will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends.

KJ leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Armani Simpkins; mother, Debbie Davis; grandmothers, Dell Davis and Rosie Simpkins; sister, Semeka (Alvin) Wimber; two brothers, Damien Davis and Fontae Davis; two nieces, Desiree Riley and Dajanae Riley; nephew, Damien Davis, Jr.; special friends, Nicole Selby and her daughter, Andrea; a devoted friend, that was close to his heart, Tricia Flynn; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

“Rest in heaven my love, tell your father, my beloved Kenny, to take care of my baby til I get there!”
Love, Mom
