Betty Lou Ridley, the beloved daughter of the late Isaiah and Mary Lou Ridley, was born on December 10, 1932 in Parksley, Virginia. She peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Arcadia Nursing Center in Gargatha, Virginia.
Betty was a member of Adams United Methodist Church. She worked at Golden Pride chicken factory and Exmore clam house for many years.
Betty’s presence will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. However, we take comfort in knowing that God is an all wise-God and He never makes a mistake.
Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Northan; a son-in-law, Henry O. Hickman, Sr.; and a brother-in-law, Warren Lee Edwards.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her son, Nelson (Cherie) Ridley of Accomac, VA; daughter, Dorothy Hickman of Parksley, VA; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Edwards of Parksley, VA and Ethel (Linwood) Dickerson of Parksley, VA; two brothers, William (Minnie) Ridley of Parksley, VA and Isaiah (Grace) Ridley of New Church, VA; Ernest West, whom she raised; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and fond friends.
