God in His infinite wisdom looked over his flowering garden and plucked a rose named, Vivian Irene Downing. She departed this life on the wings of death to fly evermore on August 31, 2017 at Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey, after a brief illness. “Biddy,” as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of Lorenzo and Daisy Downing and was born on April 22, 1952 in Assawoman, Virginia.
Vivian was a cheerful, sweet, and loving daughter, sister, and niece. She lived a very joyful life. Vivian loved her doll babies, sun shades, and her make-believe friend, Paul.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Muriel Hope; two brothers, Albert Downing and Lorenzo Downing; three aunts, Lillian Tull, Beatrice Taylor, and Mary Whaley.
She leaves to mourn: two sisters, Betty Downing and Dorothy Harmon, both of Trenton, NJ; two brothers, Bernard and Odessa Downing and Alvin and Laura Downing, Jr., both of Trenton, NJ; one uncle, James Marshall of Pocomoke, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
