James Lee Bibbins, lovingly known as “Bubbles” and “Juice Juice,” son of the late James Thomas Bibbins and Margaret Francis Custis and the stepson of of the late Clarence Duffy. He was born November 10, 1947 in Pastoria, Virginia. He departed this life on August 9, 2017 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware.
Bubbles was educated in the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia. He worked various jobs in Virginia and Maryland including Waste Management, Campbell Soup Co. in Salisbury, Maryland, and Perdue Farms in Accomac, Virginia, where he retired after having some health issues. He was an extremely hard worker and received awards for his work.
At a young age Bubbles had a love for cars. He also enjoyed eating, macaroni and cheese, ham, and cookies, were just a few of his favorite. He loved music, and he loved it really loud. His favorite hymn was “Rough Side of the Mountain.” Bubbles loved to dress up and buy nice things.
Bubbles had a great sense of humor, he would say things as a joke but they were often filled with lots of meaning. He would say, “You can pick your friends, but you can’t choose your family, cause God has already chosen them for you and it’s nothing that you can do about it.” Bubbles loved to hang out at his nephew, Terence’s barber shop, where he would be found sitting with his legs crossed and his hands clasped over his knees, ready to tell you something. He didn’t care if you were young or old, he would even question preachers when they came into the shop. Bubbles would often tell people, “Oh yeah, I’m going to heaven, cause I’ll be there working the gate.”
He confessed and rededicated his life to Christ under Rev. Wellington Burton and Bishop Gordon.
Bubbles was predeceased by his wife, Charline Marie Tingle Bibbins and his brother, Calvin Bibbins.
Bubbles leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Anthony Bibbins and Andre’ Bibbins, both of Snow Hill, MD; six grandsons; two granddaughters; four sisters, Barbara White (Rufus) of Accomac, VA, Shirley V.
