Robert Johnson, was born on June 10, 1940 in Horntown, Virginia. He was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Isaac and Ethel Wallop Johnson. God chose to call him home on June 22, 2017 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke, Maryland.
Robert received his education in the public schools of Accomack County. At an early age he attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Horntown. He worked as an oyster shucker and he caught chickens for many years for Bob and Jesse McCrady.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Mills Johnson; six brothers, Benjamin, James, Clarence, Isaac, Roger, and Clifton; and five sisters, Doris, Sarah, Virgie, Harriett, and Fannie;
Robert leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Tommy Johnson, David Johnson, and Robert Johnson, Jr.; one daughter, Jill Johnson; eight grandchildren, Laquasia Johnson, Racquelle Johnson, Drequann Johnson, Quavonte Johnson, Syrus Johnson, Silas Johnson, Torre Johnson, and Tahjay Drummond; one great-grandchild, Ry’lee Upshur; and a host of other relatives and friends.
