Horace Williams Giddens embarked on the sea of life on September 15, 1955 in Franktown, Virginia to Rosa Mae Sturges and the late Horace Williams.
Horace attended the public schools of Northampton County, Virginia. Upon graduating he entered the United States Army in 1976. His duty required him to leave the United States, but when he returned he became a resident of New Jersey. While there he joined the New Jersey National Guard and served for ten years. Horace received an honorable discharge from both branches after serving his country for thirteen years. When Horace returned to his native home, the Eastern Shore, he gained employment with Perdue Farms and worked there for eighteen years.
Horace was a fabulous brother, he was close to his mother and his cousins. He was such a loving and hardworking man and was loved by everyone he came into contact with. Anyone that knew him, knew he was a hardcore Dallas Cowboys fan until the end. He was a joy to his family and friends and this world is a better place because he passed through it.
Horace leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife and best friend of twenty-one years, Janet Pearsall-Giddens; daughter, Cecelia Jones; granddaughters, Amore’ Emaia and QuiTai; his mother, Rosa Mae Holmes; his extended family, Janet’s daughters, Nicole (Jr.), Janet, and Tiffany; grandchildren, Brittany, Sasha, Shira, Tiffani, Logan, and Nigel; great-grandchildren, Nyla, Zack, Nolan, Morgan, and Dillon; sisters, Ruth (Lee) Turner, Mable Collins, Margie (Milton) Williams, and Melissa Williams; godbrother, Greg Crump; uncles, Russell Williams, Berligh Williams, Willie Sturges, Billy Sturges, and James Allen Giddens; aunts, Mattie White, Janette Stuges, Cordeia Sturges, Peggy Giddens, Ronnie Giddens, Rosa Emma James, Bertie Crudup, Virginia Upshur, and Lucille Evans; sisters-in-law, Elaine Rowland, Valerie (Tyrone) Byard, Bobbie Lee (Kurt) Overton, Roberta Chester, and Robin Drummond; special cousins, Margaret and Lawrence, Larry and Eloise, Garry and Linda, Butch and Leaser, Velvet and Ernest; good friends, Roboy, Bill, Tyrone, and Gregory; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
