Obituary for Toy Talley III

Toy  Talley III
Toy Talley III, of Daugherty Road, Tasley, Virginia, departed this life on January 18, 2017 at home. Toy was the son of the late Toy Talley, Jr. and Mary Emma Talley, he was born on November 19, 1945 in Union, South Carolina.

Toy graduated from Sims High School in Union, in 1965. After graduation, he attended Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1970, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Upon graduation, he moved to New York for a short time. In 1972, he came to the Eastern Shore and began working for the Accomack County Public Schools. Toy was an educator at Central High School and Central Middle School, retiring after thirty years of service in 2002. He also was a supervisor for Perdue Farms in Accomac, for over thirty years.

Toy was a faithful member of Macedonia AME Church. He served on the Trustee Board and the Usher Board. Toy had to favorite sports, softball and golf.

Toy was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Beaty and aunt, Derome Cole. He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Angela Talley-Bonhon of Rochester, NY; son, Toy Talley IV of Harrisburg, NC; son-in-law, Wayne Bonhon of Rochester, NY; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Nock-Talley of Harrisburg, NC; one granddaughter, Diamond Bonhon; four grandsons, Toy Talley V, Jaylen Talley, Kameron Talley, and Trevor Bonhon; two aunts, Ethel Beaty and Cleo Pepper, both of Union, SC; two nephews, Eric and Duane Beaty, both of NY; daughter & son’s mother, Betty Talley-Custis and her siblings of Nesmith, SC and Rochester, NY; special friend, Amelia Glenn of Union, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
